Vietnam, officially known as the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, is a country located at the eastern end of the Indochina Peninsula in Southeast Asia. It borders Laos, Cambodia, China, the East Sea, and the Gulf of Thailand. The territory of Vietnam has been inhabited since the Paleolithic era, beginning with the Văn Lang and Âu Lạc states.
